Smoking

This is dedicated to all my dearest smokers out there. One of the reasons people try stopping you from smoking is... Well, they want you around. They want you to stay and be able to live longer. They are trying to prevent you from early death caused by smoking and much much more... To put it simply, they love and care for you. If you love them or even yourself, quit. Even if it takes time, a long time, try hard to stop and end this MADNESS! Do bare in mind though, nothing in life comes easy. No pain, no gain!

Do it for the ones you love, the ones who love you? Do it for yourself. =)

(Not everything is here. This isnt complete.) -Oh oh one more thing, its all not in line because i did it in Microsoft word with no intention to post it on my blog but i hope this helps.

Bad Bad Cigarettes

Main ingredient: Tobacco, Additives, Nicotine, Menthol, Ammonia, Carbon Monoxide, Tar, Other chemicals. (Oh, the poison~!)

Some of the (Oh so wonderful) ingredients in cigarettes which are known to be used in other things:
(Look what/how much poison are you inhaling. Just continue reading) –Try remembering this before sticking a cigarette into your mouth. Imagine what it is doing to your beautifully-made-with-love organs!

Ammonia: Household cleaner (Youre smoking something which is used to clean a damn house!)
Angelica root extract: Known to cause cancer in animals
Arsenic: Used in rat poisons (Feeling heroic now, eh?)
Benzene: Used in making dyes, synthetic rubber
Butane: Gas; used in lighter fluid (Zippo anyone?!)
Carbon monoxide: Poisonous gas
Cadmium: Used in batteries
Cyanide: Deadly poison
DDT: A banned insecticide
Ethyl Furoate: Causes liver damage in animals
Lead: Poisonous in high doses
Formaldehiyde: Used to preserve dead specimens
Methoprene: Insecticide
Megastigmatrienone: Chemical naturally found in grapefruit juice
Maltitol: Sweetener for diabetics
Napthalene: Ingredient in mothballs
Methyl isocyanate: Its accidental release killed 2000 people in Bhopal, India in 1984
Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element

(This is gross)

It contains approximately 4,000 CHEMICALS and HUNDREDS (400 to be exact) of which are TOXIC! Out of this 4,000 chemicals, 43 are known to be cancer causing compounds. (Toxic partying in your body isn’t really a good thing)

-          It KILLS half of its consumers (Cigarettes are so not people friendly- Stop smoking them!)
-
Nicotine: (This is the shit which keeps a person wanting more) Reaches the brain within 10 seconds after inhaled. Once your body becomes used to a certain level of nicotine, the withdrawal symptoms begins. This is where your nicotine level drops. The only way to keep your nicotine levels up, you need to continually dose yourself by smoking (See how bad it is?). Your body will eventually develop a tolerance to nicotine over time (Thus, the need to smoke more). Chemicals inhaled are also absorbed into the bloodstream.

-          Carbon Monoxide: This reduces the amount of oxygen and it would bind with the hemoglobin (Less oxygen is available to organs and tissue). Therefore, the heart has to pump harder. This would explain the SHORTNESS OF BREATH and QUICKER EXHAUSTION as compared to non-smokers.
-
Tar: This is the awesome ingredient which causes COUGHING (Body is trying to get rid of it). This paralyses the cilia (Hair which protect the airways from foreign materials). Tar is a sticky brown substance which STAINS smoker’s fingers and teeth. AND! It causes throat and lung CANCER.

-          Light and mild cigarettes are less harmful? KISS MY ASS! Some ingredients may have been lowered but others, increased.

Cigarettes and Cancer are a match made in Heaven…

Cigarette contains dozens of carcinogens (Cancer-causing chemical compounds). The more you smoke, the greater your chance of developing lung cancer. (Oh God! Cancer! Not afraid yet? Keep reading…)

In short: Disadvantages of Smoking!

-          - DEATH from disease caused by smoking (Don’t want to lose your life to sticks of poison do you?)
-         -  Chances of getting DISEASES increase (It can cause disease in every organ of the body)

-         - Worsening of blood clots
-         - Cataract (Losing VISION), Tobacco Amblyopia (Difficulty in eye movement) and Macular Degeneration (Blindness) (I believe you would like to see the world develop because I know I would)
-         - Decreases the ability to taste and smell
-         - Sexually IMPOTENT (ED) and INFERTILITY

-         - Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Drop in red blood cells)
-         - Pneumonia (Inflammation in the lung)

-         - Can cause peptic ULCERS
-         - May develop osteoporosis
-         - Peripheral Vascular Disease (Legs)
-         - Thyroid disease
-         - Degenerative Disc Disease (Spine)

(To all women out there, I haven’t talked much on your consequences! Especially when it comes to starting a family –A child) –Second hand smoking and oh you know, stillborn infants and stuff)

Facts

-         An average of 13.2 years (Male) and 14.5 years (Female) of life is lost because of smoking.
-         More than 440,000 deaths a year due to smoking. (OMG!)
One puff takes away 8 seconds of your life (Estimated)

John Quincy Adams on Smoking

In 1845, the sixth US President, John Quincy Adams, wrote a letter to Rev. Samuel Cox in Brooklyn, who was in the process of writing a book about tobacco and smoking. Adams told Cox that when he was a young man, he had been addicted to both smoking and chewing tobacco. When he decided to quit it took him three months. (If he can do, so can you!)

He wrote:
'I have often wished that every individual afflicted with this artificial passion could force it upon himself to try but for three months the experiment which I made, sure that it would turn every acre of tobacco land into a wheat field, and add five years to the average of human life'.

QUIT Smoking

Reasons: Turn all of the above the other way around, think about it and how about now you tell me why you should NOT quit smoking, huh?
The longer you wait, the harder it is for you to quit… Remember the WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS?

I respect those who are willing to change for the better and congratulate those who has already killed the addiction.

I support you! If they can do it, why can't you?

xx
