How to enable Canon MP500, MP800, MP830, MP950 and iP6600 to Print on CD/DVD

Easy Steps that will convert your US version to
Print on CD's

Things you will need
-Printer-
-CD/DVD Blank Media-
-CD Print Tray Depending on your Printer-

1. Remove the black plastic

This can be done very easily with a screw driver. Just lower the door down and slide a flathead screwdriver down behind the plastic piece and very gently push forward.

Be very careful not to damage the soft bendable plastic, might want to wrap the screwdriver in tape first so it doesn’t scrap the plastic either.

I recommend placing the screwdriver in at one end, don’t try it in the middle.

It should pop out without much effort.

3. Install the Driver

The USA driver will work just fine, it is on the CD that came with your printer. If the driver was already installed because you have been using the printer before you found this wonderful page, you will need to UNINSTALL it and RE-INSTALL it. It will add CD-R Tray as a property in the Printer.

Advanced Option: How to change the Registry Key (Dont do this it works but it wont allow you to print because the door will be open and it will not overide the open door.

4. Install Software

a. CD Label Print 1.30
b. Nero Cover Designer
c. Acoustica CD Label maker

CD Label Print is OK but some users would prefer other software to create there designs in so I have links to other software such as Nero Cover Designer and Acoustica. If you use Adobe there is a template for it as well: Adobe InDesign template
