Lady Gaga has never done it. Nor has Britney Spears or Madonna. Eminem, Kanye West, Beyoncé they’ve all had plenty of pop hits, but they haven’t done it, either. Taylor Swift? She hasn’t come close. The second-to-last artist to have four No. 1 singles in a row was Usher, who took the top spot with "Yeah!," "Burn," "Confessions Part II," and "My Boo" in 2004. (Ironically, "Caught Up," which broke the streak, is probably a better song than any of those.) For a few weeks, Katy Perry’s "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," the latest single from "Teenage Dream," held its position at No. 2. But LMFAO’s "Party Rock Anthem" has now shuffled out of the top spot, and Perry’s song has taken over. It’s her fifth straight trip to the pinnacle — an astonishing achievement for an artist who is rarely taken seriously.
